School Committee Meeting - Nov. 12th, 2024 (Rescheduled from Nov. 7th)

1. Call to order:
2. Public Comment/Open Meeting Rules: Clarification of the official legal rules of participation in an open meeting.
3. Approval of Minutes: Suggested Motion: Move to approve the minutes from the Clarksburg School Committee Meeting dated October 3, 2024.
4. Select Board Update: Select Board Chairperson Bob Norcross will provide the school committee with an update from the town regarding recent meetings and discussions.
5. School Building: Further discussion and updates regarding the estimated cost for the replacement of flooring in two early childhood classrooms, building safety needs in the shared space area with the Clarksburg Public Library, heating and air conditioning potential improvements, and the school roof.
6. Financial Statement: Suggested Motion: Move to approve the current financial statement for FY25.
7. Business Administrator’s Report: Updates on the end of the year report for FY24 and the budget process.
8. Principal’s Report: An update on school related events/activities, student learning, and staffing.

11. School Committee Business:
    1. New Business:
       1. NBSU Joint Committee Meeting: The next meeting is Monday, November 18, 2024 at 6 p.m. in Florida at Abbott Memorial School.
       2. Wellness Policy/Food Service Updates: Business Administrator Blackmer will provide an update on the upcoming state audit.  Discuss recent adjustments to the food service program at the school, and necessary updates in these areas.
    2. Continuing Business:
       1. Prekindergarten Programs: Discuss enrollment for the current school year in the three-year old program, and vote if necessary to enroll additional students who turn three during the fall months.
       2. Residency Policy: Further discussion about the current residency policy for enrollment at the school and the ongoing challenges caused by the high demand with many families seeking to enroll their children at Clarksburg School (with questions surrounding their town of residence, and the school’s ability to verify).
