MassDEP’s free testing for PFAS in private well drinking water is drawing to a close.
The last day we will be accepting applications is April 15, 2022.
MassDEP is offering private well owners an opportunity to receive free testing for PFAS compounds in communities where 60% or more of the consumers use private wells (see list below).
PFAS are a family of man-made chemicals found in a wide range of consumer products, such as non-stick cookware and stain- and water-resistant materials. Negative effects of PFAS on human health and development are a growing concern.
