RFP FOR ROOF REPLACEMENT AT CLARKSBURG ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

The Town of Clarksburg Selectboard AND School Committee, acting through its Town Administrator is seeking an RFP for replacement of the roof, including an insulation install from qualified contractors with experience in PVC ROOFING REPLACEMENTS (Sarnafil Roofing or its equivalent).  Said roof is approximately 25,000sf and has a slight slope accommodating gravity drainage at edges.

The selected contractor will be responsible for the removal of the old roofing materials, ensuring the roof decking is properly repaired and sealed as necessary, installation of a vapor barrier.  The insulation shall be installed with adhesive to the vapor barrier to meet wind uplift protection requirements per the building code. It shall allow the supporting of a solar rail system and installation of  R-30 rigid insulation, new 60mm thick black or white (must be specified) PVC roofing materials, drip edges, crickets and flashing.  The selected contractor will be responsible for the legal and proper disposal of all construction debris.

The Town of Clarksburg seeks to have the roof replacement completed by the Fall of 2025.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

The selected respondents shall:

-Be fully knowledgeable of all the requirements and shall make themselves aware of all job site conditions that will affect their work.

-Provide labor and material(s), tools, equipment, and supervision necessary to complete the work in a professional workmanship like manner.

-Use of acceptable material manufacturers for the roofing system.

-Provide photo documentation of each stage of the project, with a full set of photo documents to be submitted along with the project completion submissions.

-Install all sections of roof cover with R-30 rigid insulation adhered with insulation adhesive, provide performed crickets where necessary, ½ inch crickets where necessary and other insulation shapes where indicated and/or necessary.

-Install manufacturer approved fully adhered POLY ISO High Density ½”  4’X8’ boards.

-Install PVC in black or white (must be specified) per manufacturers published specification.  This includes flashings, plates, glues, accessories, and edge metals.

-Install custom fabricated flashing for ALL penetrations coming through the roof including, but not limited to, curb flashing, wall flashing, pipe flashing, corner flashing, coping covers, plates, glues, accessories, edge metals, and the like.

-Install ES-1 rated 24 gauge coated steel edge metal and/or coping cover system on the perimeter where no runoff occurs.  Edge metal and coping cover will be included in the warranty.  Color TBD by owner of project.

-All materials used for this project shall meet wind uplift requirements per Local and/or State building codes.

-All insulation plans are to be approved by the Building Inspector before order placement.

-All work is to be conducted with equipment, methods, and use of personnel in conformance with pertinent Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) requirements.

-Selected Contractor shall have a qualified Supervisor review all key stages of work and the completed work prior to and Local or State inspections.

-All permits and licenses necessary for the work shall be secured and paid for by the selected Respondent.

-Arrange/provide for the roofing systems manufacturer’s technical personnel to inspect the roofing product upon completion.  Obtain written approval from same regarding the install.

-Repair, remove and/or replace components of  roofing system where inspections indicate that they do not comply with specified manufacturer requirements.

WARRANTY:

-Provide a 20 year NDL (No Dollar Limit) warranty.

-Provide a minimum of 2 year workmanship warranty.

REQUIREMENTS:

-This project is subject to the Prevailing wage laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

-This opportunity is made in compliance of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30B.

-This project is subject to:

  4. d) Contractor will provide disclosure of the provisions of the “Supplemental Equal Employment Opportunity, Non-discrimination and Affirmative Action Program” to each subcontractor utilized under this offering.
  5. e) Contractor must certify they are current with all pertinent local, state and federal taxes including child support.
  6. f) Contractor selected will be required to execute acknowledgements of non-collusion.
  7. g) Contractor will, at their own expense, provide an indemnification bond in an amount of 1.5 times the amount of the awarded bid, or a minimum of $1MILLION Dollars listing the Town of Clarksburg as the insured.
