School Committee Meeting - Aug. 3rd, 2023

Meeting will be held in the school cafeteria.

1. Call to order:
2. Public Comment/Open Meeting Rules: Clarification of the official legal rules of participation by the public in an open meeting.
3. Approval of Minutes: Suggested Motion: Move to approve the minutes from the most recent School Committee Meeting dated June 15, 2023.
4. School Building Project: Any updated information regarding a start date for the planned summer building project to address the ADA accessibility issue with a chairlift on the back stairwell, as well as any other building work being completed this summer.
5. Financial Statement: Suggested Motion: Move to approve the current financial statement for FY24.
6. Business Administrators Report:
7. Principal’s Report: Principal Cote will provide an update on any school related events, activities, and information in preparation for the new school year.

    1. New Business:
       1. School Calendar 2023-2024: Discuss, review, and vote on the updated school calendar for the new school year.
       2. Student Handbook: Review and vote on the updated student handbook.
       3. Prekindergarten Program: Updated information on current enrollment for the prekindergarten program, including numbers for the three-year old classroom.  Discuss and vote on the tuition payment format.
    2. Continuing Business:
       1. Teacher Union Contract negotiations/Non-Union salary request: The school committee will discuss and vote on the tentative agreement reached during the negotiations for a new contract with the teachers, as well as vote on a request for a salary increase by a non-union staff member
       2. School Choice 2023-2024 School Year: Review updated classroom numbers, after summer adjustments for additional student enrollment, to determine if there will be committee will approve any new school choice openings during the 2023-2024 school year.  Discuss and vote on any circumstances that have arisen in reference to specific situations with current students and families.
    3. Bus Transportation: Discuss, review, and vote on the new school bus contract.
