School Committee Meeting - Sept. 5th, 2024

1. Call to order:
2. Public Comment/Open Meeting Rules: Clarification of the official legal rules of participation in an open meeting.
3. Approval of Minutes: Suggested Motion: Move to approve the minutes from the Clarksburg School Committee Meeting dated August 1, 2024.
4. School Building: Updated information regarding the recently completed chair lift project to address an ADA accessibility issue, as well as discussion about potential building safety upgrades.
5. Financial Statement: Suggested Motion: Move to approve the current financial statement for FY25.
6. Business Administrator’s Report:
   1. FY 24 school budget: Updates on the year-end close out process.
   2. Revolving Account:  Updated plan for revolving accounts in FY 25 regarding shared costs
   3. Reconciliations of Accounts: Update the committee on efforts to reconcile the school choice account, summer step up account, the student activity account, and petty cash.
7. Principal’s Report: Principal Cote will provide an update on school related events, activities, student learning, summer preparations, and staffing.
8. Assistant Superintendent’s Report:
   1. Child Find Policy: Review, discuss, and vote on the Child Find Policy

    1. New Business:
       1. School Choice/Residency Policy: Review adjustments to enrollment during the summer, and the impact on class sizes.  Discuss the current residency policy and ongoing challenges caused by so many families seeking to enroll their children at Clarksburg School with questions surrounding their residency.
    2. Continuing Business:
       1. Prekindergarten Programs: Provide information on efforts to collect outstanding balances on tuition payments for FY 24.  Discuss policy and updated enrollments for 2024-2025.
