Agenda

  1. Call to order the monthly meeting of the Clarksburg School Committee
  2. Public Comment/Open Meeting Rules: Clarification of the official legal rules of participation in an open meeting.  Welcome to Principal Kimberly Rougeau.
  3. School Building Update:
    1. Discuss updates on the roof repair project, flooring in the primary wing classrooms, cafeteria equipment, and any other building repairs and improvements.
  4. Approval of Minutes: Suggested Motion: Move to approve the minutes from the Clarksburg School Committee Meeting dated June 5, 2025.
  5. Financial Statement: Suggested Motion: Move to approve the current financial statement for FY26.
  6. Financial Report:
    1. Updates on the progress to work collaboratively with the town to reconcile all financial documents, along with working toward completing the FY25 end of the year report.
  7. Principal’s Report:
    1. An update on new school staff members hired during the summer, as well as all other preparations for the start of the new school year.

    1. North Berkshire Regionalization Study update: The committee will meet on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. in the Adams Visitors Center.  Updated information from that meeting will be shared with the school committee by Superintendent Franzoni.
  10. School Committee Business:
    1. New Business:
      1. School Choice: Review the results of the spring school choice new openings in grade one, as well as enrollment updates over the summer in order to determine if any new school choice slots will be made available before the new school year.
    2. Continuing Business:
      1. Residency Policy: Discuss the updated policy voted on by the School Committee in June to establish residency of students and their families in order to be eligible to enroll at the school as a town resident, including any implications from ownership of town property, as well as the potential communication options from the administration to current students and families.
  11. Executive Session- Per Chapter 30A, Section 21 MGL: None
  12. Next School Committee Meeting: Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 5:00 p.m.
