Unemployment
How to Apply for Unemployment Insurance Benefits (Form 0590A).
Please remember that every employee has the right to file a claim for unemployment benefits.
It is also the employer's responsibility to respond promptly to all requests for information from the Department of Unemployment Assistance. Timely responses help protect the employer's rights and ensure the opportunity to protest or appeal a determination when appropriate.
While employers always have the right to challenge a former employee's eligibility for unemployment benefits, the final determination of eligibility rests with the Department of Unemployment Assistance. Therefore, employer participation throughout the process is extremely important and helps ensure that determinations are made fairly, accurately, and equitably for all parties involved.
