*BRIDGE CLOSURE* Route 8 Bridge Closure – Beginning August 10

Important Traffic Notice: MassDOT will begin emergency work on the Route 8 (River Road) bridge over the Hoosic River in Clarksburg on Monday, August 10, 2026.

Route 8 will be closed to all vehicle traffic during construction while MassDOT installs a temporary two-lane bridge. The project is expected to take approximately two months, weather permitting, with a target completion date of October 9, 2026.

Detour Routes:

• Northbound: Route 8 → Henderson Road → East Road → Daniels Road → Walker Street → Union Street → Route 8
• Southbound: Reverse of the northbound detour.

The existing sidewalk will remain open during construction.

Please allow additional travel time, use caution on the designated detour routes, and follow all posted signage.
