Town of Adams - DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT COVID-19 (CDBG-CV)

PUBLIC HEARING

The Adams Board of Selectmen will conduct a public hearing to discuss the proposed regional application for funding to the MA Community Development Block Grant COVID-19 (CDBG-CV) program, appropriated through the CARES Act of 2020 and awarded to the MA Department of Housing & Community Development (DHCD) by HUD via amendment to the existing DHCD CDBG FY2019 One Year Action Plan. The hearing is being held to solicit public input on the specific contents of the regional application for up to $850,000 in CDBG-CV funds, serving the communities of Adams, Cheshire, Clarksburg, Dalton, Florida, Hancock, Hinsdale, Lanesborough, New Ashford, Peru, Savoy, Williamstown and Windsor. The Town, working with Berkshire Regional Planning Commission, is applying for grant funding to assist microenterprises who qualify under the Low-Moderate Income (LMI) Limited Clientele national objective criteria.

Under the proposed program, the term “microenterprise” means a commercial enterprise that has five (5) or fewer employees, one or more of whom owns the enterprise. Up to $10,000 per business may be provided through the program to qualifying businesses adversely impacted by
COVID-19.

Any person or organization having questions or comments concerning the Block Grant program, the regional application under the CDBG-CV, or the proposed activity may submit written comments to the Adams Community Development Department, 8 Park Street, Adams, MA 01220,
via the drop box in front of Town Hall, or via email: dcesan@town.adams.ma.us . All comments received by Friday, June 5, 2020 will be considered by the Town of Adams prior to authorizing the submission of the application for CDBG-CV funds. All comments received after that date will be considered in the implementation of the regional program, should funding be received.
